About the author
Shri K.K. Muhammed retired as Regional Director (North) from the Archaeological Survey of India. He got the Ibadatkhana excavated, the auditorium where various religions were discussed. Along with this, the Christian chapel built by Akbar and many other constructions were also excavated, which were buried in Fatehpur Sikri. In Bihar, he excavated the Buddhist Stupa of Rajgir and the Kesariya Stupa, from which the Borobudur Stupa of Indonesia was inspired. Mr. Muhammad is known for his daring protection operations, which at times faced great risks and even took the risk of entering the camps of Naxalites and dacoits. He refused to bow down to political pressure and political and religious leaders of all kinds on matters relating to monuments. Being a social worker, she has run several schools for slum children and migrant laborers, which has also received constant praise from US Presidents Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. He proved himself to be an out-of-the-box thinker when he conceptualized and implemented the Replica Museum in Delhi. Shri Muhammad has received three International Awards, six National Awards and three People's Awards.
