B K Chaturvedi is an Indian civil servant and former cabinet secretary, Government of India. In the year 2010, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his rich contribution to the field of civil services. He has a Masters degree in Physics from Allahabad University where he specialized in Electronics. Chaturvedi studied Public Administration from the prestigious Manchester University, UK. Currently, he is a member of the Planning Commission with the Government of India. He has also been a member of the Thirteenth Finance Commission since November 2007.
