Eddie Jacob's real name is Abraham Solomon Jacobovitch. He was born in 1920 in Germany. During World War II, he was interned in the Nazis' Buchenwald concentration camp and Auschwitz concentration camp. In 1945, he was also involved in a 'death march' where concentration camp inmates were brutally marched for miles.
In 1950, he moved to Australia with his family. He has been a volunteer at the Sydney Jewish Museum since its inception, which opened in 1992.He and his wife, Flor, have been happily married for seventy-four years. They have two sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In 2020, Eddie celebrated his hundredth birthday. He currently resides in Sydney with his family.
