Whenever and wherever there is a decline in Dharma and an uprising of Adharma, I will manifest myself personally, oh! son of Bharatha. Like the very words, The Bhavad Gita is a promise to mankind, an examination of all that we stand for and a deep insight into the facets of human fallacies. The Divine Word of God Himself in the form of Krishna.

Summary of the Book

The book begins with blind Dhritarashtra, listening to Sanjaya who can see the battle between the sons of Gandhari and the sons of Kunti on Kurukshetra. Krishna, the avatar of the God Vishnu on Earth finds Arjuna in a state of despair, and expounds to him his divine knowledge, ultimately showing him his ultimate form. The Bhagavad Gita is one of Hinduism's holiest scriptures and is regarded by many as one of the foremost philosophical texts ever written. In its 700 verses one can understand the need for a man to fulfill his duty and uphold his Dharma. It illustrates the meaning of the Atman and the Brahman, and forms the basis for Vedanta Dharma.
